<![CDATA[Cross Border Education: The Virtual Class]]> http://www.cohab.eu/system/nyhed/?tx_tcnewscategories_pi1[item]=369
On 10 April 2013 20 teacher education students from Denmark, Lithuania, Germany and Sweden met in cyberspace for the very first lesson of the virtual course held by the COHAB-project. The 20 students applied to participate in this project, focusing on the roles of teacher and student in the different countries and use and development of ICT –technologies in an international context. Culture and Intercultural Competences How can technology support cross border teaching? How can you develop digital education materials? Is it possible to describe a certain identity for teachers around The Baltic Sea? The 20 students from teacher education will together with nursing students from Poland, Lithuania and Denmark be investigating these issues during a summer school followed by a virtual course. Finally, their reflections will be published and shared as an anthology, describing the attributes of a Baltic teacher. In order to do this, they will join an intensive program in a 2 week summer school held in Klaipeda, Lithuania, go on study trips to all partner countries and participate in virtual lessons. Senior lecturer Anne Britta Rasmussen from the Teacher education in Denmark, is Head of Team Teacher and one of the teachers who are organizing and developing the course. She sees ignorance about each other’s education and working culture as one of the reasons why mobility between countries is very low. But The Cohab-project will change that...]]>

<![CDATA[Team Teacher in Lithuania]]> http://www.cohab.eu/system/nyhed/?tx_tcnewscategories_pi1[item]=368
Team Teachers study visit to Klaipeda and Palanga late Feb. 2013 Our Lithuanian partner offered us a very inspiring and well planned week. The contribution from all partners in Klaipeda and Palanga was amazing. The local schools had all prepared special shows for us. We enjoyed many dances and songs and other performances from the children, and had the opportunity to participate in some of them, playing instruments and doing folk dances. Wherever we went, we were treated by artistic and tasty canapés. Lithuania is having an “Ethnic-year” this year and many of the activities gave us insight in Lithuanian history and culture. It went along with visits to German- and Russian schools; special schools like this have arisen in Klaipeda, since you no longer need to hide your ethnicity. The cultural part of the visit was very interesting as well; the old city in Klaipeda offers many sights and interesting stories to be told in connection with them. The harbor and castle are magnificent places to visit as well. In between, everybody in team teacher worked hard to get everything ready for summer school and virtual course, and we had a good time together. There are still some details to be worked on, but all the students are enrolled and accommodation reserved. Tasks defined and divided between countries. We parted Klaipeda overwhelmed with deep impressions and respect to the fact that Lithuania is very committed to international relations and to the hospitality we met everyw...]]>

<![CDATA[Nursing Team visit in Klaipeda]]> http://www.cohab.eu/system/nyhed/?tx_tcnewscategories_pi1[item]=367
The nursing team recently met in Klaipeda, Lithuania in connection with the COHAB project. In Klaipeda the lecturers met with colleagues from Lithuania and Poland. Much of their visit focused upon the planning of the 2 week summer school in Klaipeda this summer with students from Denmark, Poland and Lithuania. The summer school has its primary focus upon the development of the students’ intercultural competences. During the summer school, students will also gain experience with the pedagogical use of virtual meeting equipment and will visit places of professional and cultural interest. Moreover, during the summer school the nursing students will meet and cooperate with students from teacher educations in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Lithuania who will also be participating in a similar COHAB summer school. In the autumn of 2013 the nursing students will continue their Baltic cooperation, as they will be taking part in a joint course involving parallel teaching sessions and study visits to their respective countries. The professional focus of the semester program will be patients’ with chronic illnesses and caring for marginalized citizens. The study visits will give the students a more in depth understanding of similarities and differences in the organization of healthcare services and how culture and professional traditions influence nursing care. During the recent visit to Klaipeda, the lecturers visited several hospitals in the region, as well as the Social Off...]]>

<![CDATA[Meeting in Gdansk in January 2012]]> http://www.cohab.eu/system/nyhed/?tx_tcnewscategories_pi1[item]=275
17 January 2012 the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland welcomed the staff to their university for a Steering Committee meeting and a Project Group meeting. The nurse and teacher team stayed on for 2 more days to be introduced to the virtual parallel teaching programme. The two teams will acquire competences over the next months in using the parallel teaching equipment as well as how to develop and work with a suitable pedagogy. The Danish partner Adult Education Storstrøm (VUC) has a lot of experience in this field and have designed a course for the two staff groups (teams) which includes a 2-day face-to-face programme during the staff study visit to Denmark in April. Furthermore, all staff (including the Steering Committee) were introduced to Moodle which amongst other has been set up by Virtus, Germany, to work as project intranet. ]]>
